South Bound Traveler

Game sessions can last well into the wee hours of the morning (and usually do), with everyone dragging out or just crashing where they fell asleep a few hours before.  Smart GMs make sure to not have gaming sessions at their house since cleaning up all of the trash and leftover players scattered around isn't something you want to do after waking up from a long session the night before.

And we made it to fifty!  Took a few years and several breaks from regular updates, but I will finish this out if it's the last thing I do.

The Meaning of Life

As a GM, you have to be vigililant about players starting skits and quotes from various sources including: Star Wars, Star Trek, Monty Python, Dr. Who, Highlander and anything from the Dr. Demento Show.  Anything less is a guaranteed way to kiss the rest of the night's game play goodbye since not even the GM can resist getting into the fun.

Burrito

Food is a large part of RPGs. Sometimes the gastric aftermath is as well.

Buzz Buzz

Sometimes it’s the little details that make all the difference, and the little details can sometimes be gargantuan to fellow players.

Searching

For Min-Maxers, it's sometimes difficult, if not impossible, to not make a roll.  This is by design, but can sometimes come back and bite them in the ass.

Ich Tu Dir Weh

As a GM, it's best to keep the player vs. player interaction to a minimum.  It almost always ends with someone's stomach getting pumped.

"Ich tur dir weh" translates to "I hurt you."

Suck

There's always a player who writes up a detailed equipment list that usually contains several items or devices that the GM wouldn't think could ever be used within a campaign, and inevitably the player comes up with some twisted, yet plausible, way to use it during the campaign.

On another note, it's been almost three years since the last update.

Sorry about that.

Second Guessing

As a GM, it's never a good idea to leave your players alone for any length of time and have them continue player interaction.  You might wind up coming back to a game of Call of Cthulu.

You Never Can Tell

Player interactions are fun.  There's almost always a time where one player can exact revenge against another.

I Love a Rainy Night

Sometimes the role of GM is more like being a conductor than anything else. Keeping things on the rails is hard, hard work.  Threats of bombs going off is sometimes required to keep the train rolling.
