Yeah, there hasn’t been an update, and I’ve neglected the site. For that, I’m truly sorry. Life has been a bear and not left me with any free time to work on this project. However, the time away had me look through everything I’ve put up, and, well, it isn’t up to my standards. I’m taking some time away from this project to hone my skills, decide what I’m going to do with this project and come back to it hopefully this summer with a new perspective. There are a few other projects I am going to pursue as well.
Sorry, but midterms are this week and spring break is next week, so there won’t be a page today (obviously) or next Monday. I will, however, be taking this time to hopefully come up with a buffer so this doesn’t happen again.
Yes, the obligitory character intro part. I decided this part was best done like a band-aid, just do it in one stroke and get it over with. I was really liking the art on this one until one of the two programs that I use to create these screwed up the color layers, and I’m so sick of looking at this page I didn’t have the energy to fix it. This is another page that was done all digitally, which I’m finding I like more and more. It just takes three times as long. I’m not sure why either. This page took me longer than any of the other pages, hands down. I did this page a little differently, I actually hand colored the flats layer instead of using the polyginal lasso tool, and that might account for a lot of the time spent. I really liked it though, it was actually more engaging and a lot more fun manually coloring this page rather than just clicking and filling. I need to find a compromise in time and enjoyment.
The next page will be up
Tuesday Wednesday, instead of Monday like normal. Sorry.
First page of the new chapter is up. I’m somewhat pleased with how some of the art came out, and then somewhat appaled at the way it came out. Such mixed feelings. I’m getting more familiar with photoshop and digital mediums, but I still have a long way to go.
